A Reduction Technique for RLCG Interconnects Using Least Squares Method

چکیده
In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for calculating the exact poles of the admittance matrix of RLCG interconnects. After choosing dominant poles and corresponding residues, each element of the exact admittance matrix is approximated by partial fraction. A procedure to obtain the residues that guarantee the passivity is also provided, based on experimental studies. In the procedure the residues are calculated by using the least squares method so that the partial fraction matches each element of the exact admittance matrix in the frequency-domain. From the partial fraction representation, the asymptotic equivalent circuit models which can be easily simulated with SPICE are synthesized. It is shown that an efficient model-order reduction is possible for short-length interconnects. key words: RLCG interconnects, Leverrier-Faddeeva algorithm, least squares method, passivity, asymptotic equivalent circuits, reduction

A reduction technique of large scale RCG interconnects in complex frequency domain
High frequency digital LSIs usually consist of many subcircuits coupled with multi-conductor interconnects embedded in the substrate. They sometimes cause serious problems of the fault switching operations due to the time-delays, crosstalks, reflections and so on. In order to solve these problems, it is very important to develop a user-friendly simulator for the analysis of LSIs coupled with in...
متن کاملModelling of Crosstalk and Delay for Distributed RLCG On-Chip Interconnects For Ramp Input
-In order to accurately model high frequency affects, inductance has been taken into consideration. No longer can interconnects be treated as mere delays or lumped RC networks. In that frequency range, the most accurate simulation model for on-chip VLSI interconnects is the distributed RLC model. Unfortunately, this model has many limitations at much higher of operating frequency used in today’...

متن کاملIncompressible laminar flow computations by an upwind least-squares meshless method
In this paper, the laminar incompressible flow equations are solved by an upwind least-squares meshless method. Due to the difficulties in generating quality meshes, particularly in complex geometries, a meshless method is increasingly used as a new numerical tool. The meshless methods only use clouds of nodes to influence the domain of every node. Thus, they do not require the nodes to be conn...
متن کاملA New Technique for Image Zooming Based on the Moving Least Squares
In this paper, a new method for gray-scale image and color zooming algorithm based on their local information is offered. In the proposed method, the unknown values of the new pixels on the image are computed by Moving Least Square (MLS) approximation based on both the quadratic spline and Gaussian-type weight functions. The numerical results showed that this method is more preferable to biline...
